Review of the Asus Eee PC 900HA netbook from my dining room table. BREAKING NEWS – MAY 5 2009 The review of the Eee PC 1000HE has just been posted. You’ll find it at www.youtube.com . Now you have a choice between two different form factors. SHOW NOTES The boot time of a minute and a half is the time it takes for a fully loaded Windows installation to become usable. The time it takes for the desktop to appear on a fresh install with no software installed yet and the Quick Boot BIOS option …

too bad the part with half-life
cool video
Asus is notorious for upgrading their netbooks as often as they change their underwear.
I also have to admit that after using the 1000HE for a while, that extra inch of screen space resulted in much better netbook ergonomics. Bigger screen, longer battery, more natural keyboard size, only a bit heavier than the 900HA, and still fits perfectly in netbook shoulder bags.
But for those that prefer a smaller size, the 900HA is probably your best choice. It’s virtually the same computer!
why did they discontinue this model? it is very cool
great review thx i going to buy this netbook
Um, this guy has just convinced me finally to buy a 900HA. Thanks for the great review and for the bit of humour too!
I have found this netbook at staples for $200 Canadian
In Canada, Staples HAD it for $309, but they’re out of stock.
You may be better off searching for the 1000HE, or better yet the 1005HA which should be the same price or less than the 1000HE depending on your choice of battery capacity.
how much is it
Is this a parody of 1947 British TV? It’s pathetic.
Great Review. Thanks!
I am definitely going to buy it–the current cheapest one is at Zip Zoom Fly for only $250 including shipping but they are out of stock.
if you want fast boot time i think an extra gig of ram wukd help 2
This guys voice really annoys me!!
you got a fat hand!
Actually, three hours based on my calculations.
I consider any running time below four hours to be too low for normal daily use. Everyone’s on the go, but not everyone is located near a power outlet. Four hours has simply become too short a running time.
The six hours running time of the 1000HE however, now that’s decent!
Load it with software, and wait a couple of weeks. Measuring the boot time with a fresh install is meaningless. It simply doesn’t take into account real life usage.
what is he talking about with low battery life? an eee 900 with a celeron processor probably gets worse battery life even with a 5800mah battery versus the eee 900ha with atom and only a 4400mah battery life. The 4400mah battery provides about 3-4 hours of life on the atom based machines.. which is very respectable. The celeron with the same battery might get maybe 2 hours..
boot in a minute in a half? hah! more like 37 seconds. (just tested it with mine) I cant explain why yours is taking so long to boot though :/
i installed it with a mounted iso image. mabe i shuld reinstall it with an mdf, because that worked with morrowind.
Did you install the game from the mount image? Or from an external optical drive?
i bougth one and i love it even tho i cant get some games working on it, i mount the image and it still asks for a disk
I am going to buy the eee pc 900ha or 1000he.
I want to pay less and have a smaller screen, but
I also want wireless n and alot of battery life. I also dont want to buy a 6 cell battery pack for the 900ha if i do end up getting it because I dont want any protrusions at the back of the netbook.I would really would prefer a smaller screen alot but I want wireless n and 7-8 hours bat. time.
Nope! Integrated graphics only. Changing the graphics chipset would require redesigning the entire computer.
can the video card be easley replaced with a beter one like GeForce or somthing???
PLEASE PLEASE Tell me, can this netbook run netflix watch instantly???
